The Fund only accepts applications from non-profit and non-governmental organisations that are
Registered in Mongolia
Registered in Belgium
Applications will be accepted from NGOs who actively work in the countryside (provinces) and the capital city Ulaanbaatar.
The Katalpa Fund aims to ensure that all applications that are eligible for grants are given equal consideration, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, race, color, ethnic or national origin, or disability.
A project that is realistic, impactful, and aligned with the objectives of the Fund
A project described clearly the needs it addresses, its positive impact, and the effective use of the grant
A project is in line with the Funds equality and diversity values
The overhead, advertising and funding acquisition costs of the NGO are less than 10%% of the grant award (i.e. at least 90%% of the fund is allocated to the objectives of the project)
The Fund contributes to a positive and lasting impact as a sustainable approach
The Fund contributes in varying amounts, but is limited to a maximum of EURO 30,000 for a grant
A project which does not align with the Funds objectives
Commercial sponsorship requests, sponsoring of any events, sponsoring of fundraising activities
A project directly affiliated with any political organization and for the promotion of religion
Failure to provide an evaluation of the organisation's project's effectiveness (current or past projects)
Incomplete submissions
A project with high overheads or funding costs
Individuals
Overseas projects
NGOs awarded a grant by the Fund may not make another application for one (1) year from the date of the last grant payment.
NGOs whose applications are not successful may make another application after one (1) year from the date of the previous rejection.
